Physical Education

Physical Education forms an integral part of the inclusive education on offer at Colaiste Muire, Crosshaven, Co. Cork.

Physical Education is a subject that can support the physical and mental wellbeing of students. Through this area of experience, students can develop and practice practical skills, participate in individual and team activities, and learn how to set and reach challenging goals.

The Colaiste Muire Physical Education programme involves learning and being challenged in a number of physical activities relating to their current level of physical development. Learners will be supported to make informed decisions in a safe and challenging environment through participation in physical activities.

From 1st to 3rd year students will engage in all strands related to the new Junior Cycle PE programme. Students will also use a textbook and technology to supplement learning. Students will be assessed in 2nd and 3rd year and this will be reflected in the wellbeing section of their JC profile of achievement.
