Science

A focus on Science is a crucial part of the curriculum at Colaiste Muire. Science is studied by all students until the end of 4th year. During these 4 years students develop a vital understanding of the natural world around us. The Physics of how the world works, Biology the study living things and Chemistry to seek how substances react. Throughout the course students partake in scientific workshops such as “the guts of digestion” fieldwork studying hedgerow and seashore habitats and trips. Blackrock Castle Observatory trip to encourage engagement with the new Earth and Space strand of the Junior Cycle. Science Curriculum

Here at Colaiste Muire we have a focus on S.T.E.M. Stem subjects are globally recognised and lead to a world of possibilities. All 4th year students study four science subjects, biology, Chemistry, Physics and Agricultural Science. This is coupled with many visits to Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Bio-pharma, smart future and engineering talks.
