Water Sports

The new watersports season kicks off on Friday, February 23rd, with an 8-week program designed for anyone interested in learning or improving their skills in sailing, kayaking, team racing, and more. This program is perfect for beginners and experienced participants alike, offering a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the joys of being on the water.

Training sessions will be held every Friday, starting February 23rd, at the Royal Cork Yacht Club, using both RCYC and ISA boats. The sessions will run from 1:30 to 4:30 PM, with a short break for Easter, and the program concludes on April 26th. In the event of weather-related cancellations, we will reschedule as needed. You'll be guided by a team of highly experienced local instructors and coaches.

If you're new to sailing, don't worry—we'll cover all the basics. For those with more experience, there's plenty of room to hone your skills with team racing and kayaking activities. Boats and life jackets (buoyancy aids) are provided, but we recommend wearing warm, water-resistant clothing, such as a wetsuit.

The total cost for the program is €80, which breaks down to €10 per week or just €3 per hour.

We're also looking to form teams for upcoming competitions, including the Munster Schools Team Racing Championships on March 16th, with a fallback date of April 14th (venue to be confirmed). Our goal is to qualify for the National Schools Team Racing Championships on May 4th and 5th.

Whether you're a seasoned sailor or just curious about kayaking, there's something for everyone. Our friendly instructors and coaches are here to ensure that you have a safe, fun, and rewarding experience on the water. Joining this program is not just about learning new skills; it's about making new friends, building confidence, and enjoying the great outdoors. Come and discover just how much fun watersports can be!
